This work is housed at the High in Atlanta. Photographed with my unfortunate cellular phone camera, this is just a section of Craig Kucia’s supercool 2006 work [and chapters bloomed...] that measures 60 by 66 inches. His works are colorful, album-cover cute, and feature naively-rendered surreal elements and complex, layered composition. Mr. Kucia is represented by Miami’s Kevin Bruk Gallery and Cleveland’s SHAHEEN Modern and Contemporary Art.

What it feels like for this girl

What it feels like for this girl. I graduated in May 2008 and have not yet found a job. The obvious badness is not having an income; thus not being able to buy stuff – sadness ensues for this consumerist. The less obvious and more insidious badness is not having a place to be and not belonging anywhere.

Being Erica

Being Erica is a fantastical Canadian dramedy that is now airing on SoapNet. This show is awesome. Or at least I think it is. Maybe we are so lacking in decent television programming that anything half-decent now rates as awesome. Whether it’s flat out good or merely relatively good, it is definitely worth watching. The show features a likable protagonist played by a pretty actress who would probably never be cast as a lead in an American show. That is, she looks like a regular lady, albeit a pretty one. The show is episodic in that our Erica travels back in time and then back to the present by the end of each episode, after having gotten a re-do on some regrettable decision/action/omission. These resets are made possible by a therapist who inexplicable pops up when, in the present, some situation analagous to one of Erica’s past regrets arises. How it works is not really our concern though, what matters is how funny and warm Erica and Erica is without being maudlin or ridiculously corny. Show reminds of Wonderfalls, Northern Exposure, and pre-suckiness Ally McBeal.

Curious Kittens Curate will feature stuff at least one human thinks is cool. It is made possible by the Internet, which empowers all curious dilettantes. I don’t know about much of anything, but I love the Internet for feeding me information and media when I want it. This blog will be a collection of things interesting, amusing, and lethargically cool.
